Skot Leach

(Lostzombies.com- Skot Leach)

When you are a member of the undead, there isn’t many social clubs or places to hang out and meet chicks. So I scour the internet looking for folks that share my interests. You see, even though I am “undead”, I have a strong dislike for zombies. I’m not like those drooling vegetables that stumble around looking for their next “meal”. Anyway, I find this community of zombie hunters and documenters called LostZombies.com. This is a community of zombie ass-kickers from all over the world. There are also some pretty groovy chicks that share a morbid fascination with the undead. I’m quite popular with the ladies there, as you can imagine.

I tracked down the man who started it and got the lowdown to this far-out community.

Mortis Rigor (MR): So you are known as Lost. Is that a name or a description?
Skot (Lost) Leach (SL): Currently it’s a description... An accurate one.

(MR): What is your name?
(SL):  My name is Skot Leach.

(MR):  In your words, what is Lost Zombies?
(SL):  Lost Zombies is a social networking website who’s goal is to create the world’s first community generated zombie documentary.

(MR): When did it begin?
(SL): We launched May 1st 2008

(MR):  Is this a hobby or are you in this as a business, or both?
(SL): It’s a hobby for now, but as you know the zombie apocalypse is an eminent reality and when it comes this will be much more then a hobby.

(MR): How do you earn money to operate the site?
(SL): I’m sorry... Money?

(MR):  You’ve built this community to over 4,500 people (very impressive), how did you get people there?
(SL): We hijacked users from FaceBook, MySpace, YouTube and a bunch of other sites. We also used Digg, StumbleUpon, Google adwords and brute force.

(MR): Did the community grow fast right away or did it take awhile?
(SL): It grew very fast. Generally speaking the internet going community is concerned about zombies and realizes this is a real threat and the best weapon is preparation.

(MR): I can see by the look in your eyes that you have never had a conversion with the undead before. It must be strange for you to not engage in combat with me. I can assure you that the zombies you seek to kill, are not as eloquent as I and have nowhere near the skills I possess. You are much better off with me on your side. you dig, brother?
(SL): You can’t be too safe *cocks shotgun*

(MR):  I saw on your page that you are a death squad Lieutenant. How would you describe your troop leadership style? How many men and women are under your command?
(SL): The Death Squad is zombie eradication team located in Las Vegas Nevada. My title with that organization is an honorary one given to me for the work I’ve done on Lost Zombies. I’m not an acting Lieutenant.

(MR):  What is the ultimate goal for Lost Zombies, future plans?
(SL): We will create the world’s first community generated zombie documentary and we will distribute it throughout the world by any means necessary. Coupled with that specific goal, we want to disrupt the status quo of filmmaking by giving the power of creation and distribution to the people, not the studios.

(MR): How does one become a member?
(SL): Go to LostZombies.com and click  on the signup link on the upper right hand side. Membership is free.

(MR): So if all zombies were quick like me, could think like me, and had my weapons skills, how screwed would we all be?
(SL): I might have to change teams.

(MR):  Ok. Last question. What’s your favorite zombie flick?
(SL): Tuff  question. Return of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead (original and the remake), 28 days later are some of my favs... But my all time fav isn’t done yet... It’s called Lost Zombies.
